EROS

“Eros” is a work about inspiration and connection.

Man becomes a “container” and communicates with his higher self. Being in a state of connection, he achieves contact with another human being. This union carries a memory from another world, it is the reconnection with our truth, the revelation of the “all” we have within us.

In the work “Eros” it is described figuratively how the union of one person with another, can give the possibility of connection with an upgraded dimension of what we call “self”. This union is approached in this work, with cosmic and invented, fantastic elements.

The viewer through Augmented Reality technology nowadays has the possibility to come into contact with virtual representations of all kinds. Representations not only of the material reality but also of the immaterial, such as the reality of intuitions, beliefs, all kinds of sensations that are consciously or unconsciously connected to the “self”.

In the wake of the aforementioned connection, this specific work also attempts to comment on the emerging, in this phase of our culture, mode of communication where a large part of any reality (material or immaterial), unfolds through screens. Do these virtual representations finally connect us with the emerging social dimension of “hyperrealism” according to Baudrillard? (Jean Baudrillard, 1981 “Simulacra and Simulation”) And in what ways does this cultural transition occur?
