Mills of Crete

The history of Crete of Mills begins in 1928 from the port of Souda in Crete, when businessmen Soulakos (a grain merchant from Gythio), Pologiorgis and Tzianoudakis founded the joint venture company KYLINDROMYLOI KRETIS. Their goal was to create an adhesive mill that would directly source the raw materials from Central Greece, in order to avoid the high transport costs that burdened the price of the products. Despite the adversities of the time and the island’s poor road network that limited the transport of flour, the business developed significant momentum.

The activities of Mills of Crete now extend to the following sectors: Flour, Dairy products, Cereal products, Animal feed, Biofuels. In addition, they have taken a leading role in the commercial partnership entitled Delights of Crete.
