One of the greatest challenges of Modern Physics, is the point of the black hole called “singularity point”, which is characterized as “sensory nothingness”, that is where there is no sensory function. It is described as an area of space-time in which natural laws cease to apply. The infinitely large gravitational forces prevailing there, dissolve every material substance into its elemental particles.

There is a similarity between the “image archipelago”, which includes all forms of images – those that are reproduced on the Internet as well – in infinite concentration and density, and a black hole that has the same characteristics of concentration and density.

Social networks can be seen as the “singularity point” of the “image archipelagos”, corresponding to the singularity point of a black hole. Due to the rapidly-evolving technology, the human being has evolved from an image consumer into an image producer and distributor, with the predominant theme of these images being his/her life and his/her mood. This vast amount of images ending up as uploads in clouds storage is the visualized space-time memory fragments.

Ever accelerating images upon images emerge at a vertiginous speed – a speed determined mainly by western standard, influencing our everyday life, consuming enormous energy from every human being in front of a screen, leading people every day to swim and sink into the image archipelago, without restraining them, without being concerned, without reacting …
in a “sensory nothingness”.

The experimental film has premiered in Kythera island at the “Photographic Meetings of Kythera 2017” (September 10, 2017). Later it was presented at Chania | Crete island – at the church of Agios Rokkos during “Photography Week 2017” (November 17 – 21). Private screening have then occurred in Chania and Athens.

Due to the very nature of the film, the film is to be experienced in a large screen in a small space, with special audio installation. The room should have a door leading in, which opens every 10′ for people to enter. People watching the film may leave anytime, but entrance is limited every 10′. If you are interested in screening it, you may reach out.
